Now that you have started your blog what’s next? What is the next step to building your blog into a successful 6 figure business?
First, you must mentally prepare yourself for business ownership if your desire to become a business owner. This is not the time for procrastination and negative thoughts.
I know it can be hard to always stay positive when you first start blogging. It’s a grind. It’s hard work that requires all hands on deck. The following tips are designed to help keep you focused in your journey towards developing your successful blog.
1. Time Management
Post it notes, sticky notes and many assorted colorful list is how I choose to jot down my daily routine to help with time management.
You become very continuous of your time when starting a blog. Time is precious. Don’t waste it. Jot down all you want to accomplish with your blog. Then, block off your time.
Time that’s meant for you. Time that isn’t occupied by work, kids, TV or obligations. The time that is yours, savour it. Make it matter, make it count. Even if only 15 minutes exist for you. Turn those 15 minutes into gold.

Set a realistic schedule around your day. Kick to the curve any time wasters. Here are a few time management tips to help you manage your minutes without wasting them:
- Take 15 minutes to post to Facebook.
- Take 15 minutes to manually pin to Pinterest.
- Take 20 minutes to write a post.
- Take 30 minutes to complete a course on monetizing.
- Take another 20 minutes to edit the post.
- Find 30 minutes to work on your website theme and install a new plug-in.
The key is to get a goal, and write up a plan and get it done. Set a timer to stay on course and go!
2. Content Is King
Content is the meat and potatoes of your blog. Without content you don’t have a blog. Make sure you are writing post/articles and publishing consistently 1 to 3 times a week. This helps you to show up in google and other search engines.
However, dilemmas sometimes arise. Here are 3 common dilemmas when it comes to writing post and some quick solutions:
a. Time to write: Finding time to write can be a tough one. Especially when you’re a parent and/or work a full time job. In this case get up an hour earlier every morning. You can also set aside time to write before bed. Whichever works best for you. Basically schedule in a time to write and write.
b. Slow with writing: I found out that setting a timer for about 20 minutes actually helps me to write faster. There’s no room for over thinking or editing while writing. Try this. Hopefully it’ll work for you.
c. Struggling with coming up with new post ideas: Think of your audience and all the problems they need answers to. Next, come up with answers to these problems. Take those answers and turn them into post topics. Another way to find topics would be to see what’s popular in your niche on google and social media.
3. Stay Consistent
It’s almost impossible to build a successful blog without consistency. Especially, in the beginning. If you are not working on that sucker every single day, it will fail to flourish into a prosperous business. Master a skill and make it a habit. Make a decision. Stick to your plan. See progress. Set a schedule and stick to it.
But, if you want your blog to blossom into a business you have to remain consistent. Start by having a goal and plan. Follow your schedule every day. Make adjustments as needed to see progression towards your goals.
Even if your day is extremely busy find 15 minutes to an hour to work exclusively on your blog. Every. Minute. counts. Remember…take baby steps.
4. Build Your Audience
You can’t have a business without customers and you can’t have a blog as a business without an audience. Dedicated loyal readers. The best way to develop an audience that will remain loyal long term is to pick a niche.
Choose your niche wisely.
What is it that you enjoy writing about, have knowledge about and believe others will enjoy reading and learning about? After you’ve determined your niche, start writing post on this topic.
Keep writing and posting to build up your credibility, noticeability and SEO rankings.
Next step, get followers. Do you have a newsletter subscription sign up form on your homepage or sidebar? If not, get one. Then, offer freebies or incentives to encourage sign-ups and build up a following.
I use Mailchimp, it’s free up to 2,000 subscribers and has been working great for me.
The next step: Market on Social Media. Focus on one and expand. Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook are the three most common ones that bloggers have success with. Find out which one your audience uses the most and start learning and marketing to your group of readers.
5. Execute A Monetizing Plan
What are you offering? What is your monetizing plan? What is your sales/marketing products plan? What product would you offer your readers?
You can offer affiliate products you use and believe in. Maybe you have an idea for your own product that you would like to promote. Like a course or ebook.
The most effective way to capture customers for your product are CTAs (call to action) and sales funnels.

Success requires hard work and success delivers a whole heaping of rewards. This is possible with your blog.

This has been lovely to read. Blogging can definitely become laborious without seeing any rewards. If you give up though, you would never know what you could have accomplished.
As a result of my frugal lifestyle blog, someone from a TV company reached out to us and we now have a part in the show!
Great inspiration and motivation to keep going. Thanks so much for this. I would encourage others to do the same.
