3 Ridiculously Cheap Fall Vacation Ideas

September 26, 2017 by Elisha. This post may contain affiliate links. 21 Comments

Summer has officially come to an end but the fun doesn’t have to.  Enjoy the cooler weather by planning an early autumn weekend vacation that fits into your budget.

Pack your bags and head out for a quick weekend getaway.  Take a trip in your own town, travel to a neighboring city or fly somewhere across the seas.

Here are a few ideas and deals for that time before the weather starts to drastically change.

1. Take a Staycation

Relax and enjoy a farewell summer retreat.

A staycation simply means planning a mini-vacation in your home town.  Spend a weekend at a luxury hotel downtown or that cute bed and breakfast you pass ever day on your way to work.

This type of vacation is not only inexpensive but it’s low stress.  You don’t have to worry about driving far, booking a plain or jetlag.

Imagine enjoying all the accommodations the hotel has to offer. You could order room service and receive full spa service, since you hadn’t spent a lot of money on any actual traveling.

I always use Booking.com for the best and lowest deals on hotel reservations.  They have no booking fees, the site is very user friendly and the pictures give an honest depiction of how the hotel rooms actually look.

2. Visit a Neighboring State or City

After Labor Day rates significantly drop for hotels in beach areas.  Usually over 50%, including the price of those high rise oceanfront resorts.  Booking.com is a great place to find deals for these too.

Most cities have plenty of festivals and events during the months of September and October.  From wine festivals to state fairs and Oktoberfest.    Plan your trip through USA Travel to get the best bang for your vacation bucks.

Rent a vacation home through Airbnb and stay for the weekend. Make a reservation for a rental car with Deal on Wheels, use promo code….

I love camping during the fall season.  The weather is cooler, the camp site is less crowded and there are no bugs! J

You’re not very out doorsy or live in a colder region?  Try renting an RV.  An RV road trip is another great way to spend the weekend visiting a neighboring state.

If you never been to the Big Apple now would be a great time to go and avoid the heavy holiday crowds.  Cheap Flights to NY is very budget friendly.  Then, head over to open loop ny.com to book a site seeing bus tour.

Visit the Statue of Liberty, Time Square and the Empire State Building.  Go see the latest Broadway show while you’re there or do some early holiday shopping.

3. Plan an Affordable Abroad Trip

Traveling abroad can also be very inexpensive around this time.

According to travel.usnews.com some of the best European countries on their list to visit when on a budget are:  Rome, Porto Florence, Athens, Vienna, Sicily, St. Petersburg and Berlin.

Or visit a warmer climate like, Cancun, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Puerto Vallarta.

Save money and time by booking your vacation all at once through CheapOair with their exclusive package getaway.  Use promo code….  and receive….

Now go plan that trip.  Enjoy a quick affordable weekend getaway before winter hits and the rush of the holiday season begins.  Relax, rejuvenate and relieve some stress with your cozy fall vacation.-

Staycations are so great for an extended weekend. Most of all I love the idea of visiting a neighboring city for the weekend as well. Why not expand my territory and get to know another city a little more? Truly, every city has its unique appeal and lure.
